There is a lot of history behind Færgekroen's cozy rooms. The family company, Tholstrup, which owns this Danish gem, is also the owner of restaurants such as Peder Oxe, Zeleste and restaurant Kompasset.
Previously, the agency for the legendary shipping company White Star Line housed Færgekroen's premises and the maritime universe is well preserved here in Nyhavn.
Old destination names are engraved in the restaurant's windows, the spiral staircase is created by an old tram, the decor has been given a touch of sailor details and in the cool months the fireplace is whimsical.

Eat you through traditional, Danish dishes and an exquisite open sandwich menu card. Færgekroen is known for its delicious herring table and more than 20 different spirits which are specially homemade from spices, berries and herbs such as St. John's wort, forest mark, yarrow.
The season determines the menu but there are always well-known classics such as tartlets, plaice and intense and creamy simmering dishes that entice.
