Sustainability and green self-production
Nature and ecology are important key words that are cultivated in the 'backyard'. Spices and greens are harvested from the deck's herb garden, which is also a wonderful, relaxing oasis for seated guests who either enjoy a cold, organic draft beer or a glass of natural wine when the weather allows it.
From Danish Glænø, just over 15km southeast of Skælskør, quality raw materials are delivered such as vegetables and meat - a hinterland that goes hand in hand with Vandvid's love of nature and the use of local, Danish raw materials.

Craziness behind the name
The name, Vandvid, plays i.a. on the water that stretches far around the houseboat. But 3 creative people got the ‘van (d) wittige’ idea to convert a sunken concrete barge into a houseboat and have a restaurant in a rocking environment at Sluseholmen in Sydhavnen.
A successful project with a magnificent location, informal and nice warm atmosphere and a refined, Nordic menu with both fish, meat and vegetarian dishes on the menu.
